Quantitative Fisheries Stock Assessment Course in Italy

Stock Synthesis (SS) Course in Italy, October 2-6, 2017

This course was lead by CAPAM Research Scientist Dr. Juan Valero and Dr. Melissa Haltuch (NOAA). The course was taught in Rome, Italy during October 2-6, 2017. Funding was provided by FAO and the Italian National Research Council (CNR) with NOAA contributing in kind time for Dr. Haltuch.

The course was attended by 26 scientists from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Morocco, France, Montenegro, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine (order by number of participants). The course consisted of instruction and demonstrations of SS model capabilities as well as participants work on implementing and improving SS model configurations using data for fisheries that they are responsible for conducting stock assessments.
